I wanted to share my experience with Verizon once again, highlighting the god-awful service I've received. Mind you, the customer service agents themselves are splendid. They are wonderful people, awesome to talk to, and great human beings.
Recently, at the end of May, I was offered a free upgrade. My wife, being kind and thoughtful, got me one of the new iPhone 15s. Unfortunately, I didn't want that phone. From the moment I got it, this phone has caused me nothing but grief. My wife immediately sent back my old phone, but every week for the past two months, I have been told that if I do not return the old phone, I will be charged $538.
I have called many times to resolve this issue, and each time I am assured that the issue is resolved. Despite this, I continually receive notices stating that I will be charged $538 for the phone that Verizon has already confessed possession of multiple times.
Ultimately, $538 was taken from me amidst all this nonsense. This is $538 taken out of my son's mouth for food and other necessities. I was offered a credit that could go toward paying my bill for the next two months, but it feels unnecessary to pay my phone bill two months in advance when my hope was to trade this phone for the Android I originally wanted. I was told that the 90-day window is over and there's nothing they can do because that's just the way the contract is.
I've spent hours trying to fix this situation, and I am still calling because I have no faith whatsoever that the issue is resolved. I live in constant anxiety that I will be charged another $538 due to whoever is responsible for inventory and informing people that the phone is in Verizon's possession. I'm afraid I'll get another one of those sweet messages stating that if I do not return the phone, I will be charged again.
This is a mess, and considering I've had to deal with this for two months, I feel it's only fair to continuously share my disappointment through reviews. The amount of time I've had to spend on this issue, and the lack of compensation or resolution, is unacceptable. I only wanted the phone that I originally wanted, but Verizon has made this an unnecessarily complicated ordeal.
To the customer service agents, you've been pleasant to talk to, but Verizon, do better. See you again soon in my next review.
