Prepaid card balance to apply on Postpaid account.

I bought a $100 Verizon gift card at a retail store, but mistakenly purchased a Prepaid Refill card instead. The prepaid card has a 15-digit pin code and an 18-digit card number. As I am not a prepaid user, I attempted to apply the gift card to my MyVerizon postpaid account, only to discover that postpaid accounts accept 11-digit or 16-digit gift cards.
Upon contacting the retail store for an exchange or refund, I was informed that the card was already activated, and they couldn't provide a refund. Subsequently, I reached out to Verizon customer service. After being redirected multiple times and verifying the funds on the card, the last agent abruptly hung up without resolving the issue.
My simple request was to redeem the funds from the gift card and apply a credit to my postpaid account. However, I was told there was no way to do so. It seems illogical that Verizon lacks the capability to redeem a card and apply credit, possibly due to privilege access levels and lack of training. This has resulted in a frustrating customer experience.
Does anyone know of any alternative uses for this prepaid card without having a prepaid account?

As per my best knowledge, You cannot use 18 digit cards in your postpaid account. 18 digit gift cards are prepaid cards and Verizon allow you to use it only on your prepaid account.

Kitchensink11 Thank you for reaching out. There is no way that you are able to use this gift card on a post paid account as the system will not accept it. Have you reached out to the retail store you purchased it from to try to get a refund? ~Peter

I have the same exact problem and Iโve contacted customer service with no help whatsoever. The retail location will not take these cards back. Itโs 2024, I find it completely ridiculous that this company is unable to work around this situation. I canโt be the first nor the last to deal with this.

Nomad78653, we apologize for the inconvenience this is causing you. We're not able to apply the balance of a Prepaid Verizon card to a postpaid account, and the refund of that card will depend on the original place of purchase.
