Want to switch from verizon post-paid to prepaid

I have two iPhone 4 long off contract, but still in use with a verizon plan. I want to switch both to pre-paid plans and keep my numbers. How do I do this?

Online it says I cannot keep my numbers, but since they are version numbers now, seems like I should be able to keep them?

You can keep them, both the phones and the numbers, but you need to call Verizon or visit a corporate store to actually convert the postpaid to prepaid.
