Verizon Call Filter not blocking texts

I have call filter plus and it doesn't seem to be working. I have it set up currently with certain area codes being blocked that I am constantly receiving texts from but they still come through. I would very much like what I'm paying for to work.

Hello maxheadrm. We're sorry to learn you're having issues with those spam calls. Keep in mind you can manage the Neighborhood filter which lets you block calls from all numbers with a specific area code/prefix. Check out the details here: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-238154/

Good morning. I've currently done this on my S24 Ultra. I have 3 area codes that are currently being blocked but as of this morning, I'm still receiving messages from them.

maxheadrm, receiving unwanted calls and/or text messages is never fun. Help is here. Please see the link below to ensure the proper route has been taken to block the unwanted number from texting you. Also, please be sure to forward to SPAM (7726) ensure they are blocked.

I think blocking calls doesn't block texts. The other thing is, the spam texts are most likely coming from spoofed numbers, so whatever number is displayed isn't the actual one being used.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
