Assign multiple short codes to a single contact

Not limited to Samsung...

My city uses short codes for alerts and other important information. I have assigned them all to one contact so that they appear in a single text thread, but I they are showing as separate threads for each short code. Is there a way to merge them or have them all show up in the same thread?

Have you tried adding them to or creating a Group Text? That might work.

We know its convenient to have all your updates in one place. For them to all appear in one thread, they all need to be from the same sender and phone number. Are the alerts all sent from the same short code or multiple different ones?

I'm thinking this is a business account with Verizon? The Verizon reps who post in these forums have said they can't access business accounts. If you've got a dedicated Verizon contact person for your account, contact them; otherwise, you'll have to try Business Support (scroll down to the bottom of the forums page and look under the "Support" section). Would recommend calling some other number besides the one ending in 0204 because the 0204 number is a general catch-all number.

: I was told elsewhere someone had done some looking into ways to merge the short code texts, and couldn't find anything. However, as I've mentioned elsewhere, the Verizon agents who check these forums are also unable to access business accounts, so there may be something out there for businesses to use.

Not a bad idea!! Don't know if it will work though because the short codes can't accept messages... Not sure how I'd create a group without being able to send

Short Codes not accepting shouldn't affect your ability to send... if you don't mind rejection.
