Verizon 5G is terribly slow and I can't stand it when my phone swaps to it. The 4G LTE is always faster. Now normally I could just change my preferred network in the settings tab but Verizon blocked this. There was an app that allowed the work around and they blocked that too. Someone please help me turn the 5G off and keep my phone on 4G.

@SrSaucySausage69, it's not just Verizon disabling band selection, but Samsung has also taken said feature out, which is why the band selector app you mentioned earlier no longer works either. I have heard of iPhone users still being able to band select, but that could be with unlocked versions of iPhones only.
5G service ought to run considerably faster than LTE, unless the 5G signal is very weak (1-2 bars?).
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

I am also having similar issues.. forced to upgrade plan due to what phone I got and never get the 5g uw.. do get 5g 3 to 5 bars however no data, sometimes data but is is so slow takes 3 minutes to load a page.. I always have to flip airplane mode on and off till I get 4g LTE and lightning speed. I been with Verizon for over 20 years and all they ever tell me is we are working on it. If it doesn't get fixed soon I will switch to someone else and say goodbye since they don't care about a loyal customer
