To my fellow sufferers of a s22 ultra paperweight after the update, I've finally broken down and had Verizon warranty it. My temporary solution of carrying an old phone and paper clip so I could swap the sim card if I needed to make a call while I was out is impractical. I use this phone for work too so can't miss calls.

How is the other GS22? I am having the same problem but I am reluctant to warranty claim/pay to get the same device only for this same problem to happen again.

Actually so far it's going well. I've seen some similar things happening but I've not lost cell service. I got really nervous when the updates forced through (I'm on WLG).
- my wifi password occasionally says it's incorrect but without changing anything it ends up self correcting
- yesterday I was on a wifi phone call at home when my wifi dropped and my cell service dropped to 1 bar so my call was cutting out.
Suggestion that if you pursue it you try to find your receipt. I was able to get reimbursed for my liquid glass I had on my previous phone.
The anxiety of not being able to call for help if you need it was not worth the wait. I should've demanded it sooner rather than allowing the Samsung and Verizon tech support make me jump through hoops with terrible follow-up on their part. Hours of my life lost.
Just know, I forgot what a pain it is to get all your stuff set back up. Grrrr!

That's great to hear! I tried waiting for the January update (WLG) to see if it would fix the issue but it still persists. It's also very frustrating and unfair that this issue would incur any out of pocket cost to resolve (warranty claim) something that is clearly not our fault. I'll have to follow your advice and just eat the cost after exhausting every other avenue as well.

I didn't pay anything for the warranty replacement. I don't know if that's the norm.

I was told I'd have to submit the device for insurance claim, sorry that's what I meant. Not sure if my device falls under warranty, it's been 1 year and 8 months since I purchased it.

Spoke too soon. Now the replacement phone lost mobile networks as of 2/6.
Do looking forward to checking in with all my friends at vzw tier 2 support!

Wow! No way! I can't believe it. I haven't done anything about my phone yet, I've just been carrying around my hotspot to supplement the lack of service, shouldn't have to do this but let us know how it goes with the replacement device support.

Lost WiFi calling today so now my phone can't send or receive texts or calls. I got fed up, caved and paid the $99 insurance deductible for a GS24 Ultra instead of the GS22 in a different color because I want to get as far away as possible from this GS22 lineup. The wifi calling was the last line of reliable communication that was left and it took on me now so my phone is useless.
