Today, I started having issues receiving media text messages on my Samsung 21FE. Messages require download and fail on the download. I've also had to retry multiple times to send media messages. I've cleared cache on Messages app, restarted, rebooted and have deleted tons of old texts to ensure its not a space issue. I've checked all settings, but nothing has changed abd I've not done any updates recently. I've tried both via wifi and data, but nothing works. Please let me know what I've not tried that might resolve the issue

Both my wife and I suddenly started having the same issue today. I'm on a Samsung S20 Ultra and my wife on the S21. Both phones up to date and did all the fancy "turn this off and on and restart" solutions with nothing working. Also found out my bill is going up 4 bucks a line plus tax at the same time. Thanks Verizon!!!

Hello, Getmytextworkingorelse. So sorry to hear you and your wife are experiencing these issues. Help is here. Please tell me more. Are you both using the text messaging application that came with the phone or a 3rd party application? Do text messages (SMS) work with no issues? Lastly, we can always review your account for any savings. Please let us know.

Same issue. Just started today. My family all have phones on another network and they are having to send things using social media messaging. Annoying to say the least.
Please let us know if there is a fix.

Update: I believe I've narrowed it down to an issue receiving messages from AT&T customers. My husband and I can exchange MMS messages, but neither can receive MMS msgs from friends on AT&T and we both have to send MMS messages multiple times to the same friends to get them to go through

Hello sslabaugh87, we're sorry you're having issues with your MMS feature. Where are you currently located? Are you able to use data as you normally would on your device? Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

I also am having this issue, started last night (3/25/2024). On a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. I was on the phone with verizon support for a long time, tried resetting, restarting, etc. Tried using a 3rd party app like Textra, no success. Cleared cache, reset network settings, rebooted, still not working. I have not received any form of MMS message since this issue started. I cannot receive group chats from my other family members who are on the same plan and have Verizon. Nor can I receive MMS messages from other Android issues. This seems to be an issue with how Verizon is handling MMS messages at the moment. SMS messages are working just fine

Hi camt1.Thank you for reaching out about your group and MMS message issues that started yesterday on your S20FE. Many troubleshooting options are available here: Device Support and Troubleshooting available at https://www.verizon.com/support/devices/
What is the messaging app in use? Let's checkout network coverage and alerts as well. Where are you located?

None of the troubleshooting options work. My husband took our phones today. They switched our default messaging app from Messages to Messages+ and said that fixed it, but it did not. Instead of showing the message needing downloaded, those messages don't show at all in Messages+. They also said the issue started with something Apple did yesterday. Not sure what to believe, but I do know that I'm beyond frustrated.

We understand how important it is to have your messages working correctly, and we'll be glad to help out. Keep in mind that previous messages that you received won't show up on Messages+, only new ones you receive. Did you test the MMS by having someone send you a message after the app was changed?

I've resolved my issue. In my Messages app, I went to Messages Settings, More Settings, Multimedia Messages and turned download automatically while roaming. I was then able to open all the messages I'd missed. I don't plan to be roaming anytime soon, so will leave it this way and test turning it back off in a few days.

I depend on my phone on a daily basis, so I know how important it is to have all your services up and running, we can definitely look into this. Have you made any recent changes to your phone? Is this happening only for messages you receive?
