S22 Ultra Connectivity is Non-existent on 5G and phone refuses to pick any other band

Issue:
When in an area with low 5G coverage, I experience complete loss of data on my phone. Speed-tests show 100% package loss. Supposedly the phone picks the best connection available, but this is not the case. 5GUW very often has more signal and works very well, WHEN the phone chooses to use it. 4GLTE also has wonderful coverage in the area and data speeds are sufficient, again, WHEN the phone chooses to use it. Unfortunately, it continuously sits on 5G with 1 bar, basically severing my connection to my data.
Repeatability:
Take a Verizon S22Ultra to any area with 5G service and 5G will basically seize up the data on your phone. Bars don't matter, has worked in every 5G service area I've tried. Thankfully, in some areas, 5GUW is prioritized by the towers, so phone is usable.
Requests:
1) Why, if it's choosing the "best connection" is it constantly choosing the only one WITHOUT a connection?
2) How can I make the phone prioritize 5GUW or 4G over 5G so my phone is usable on data connections where 5G is an option?

Hello, EldrinSMP. Thank you so much for this info and these questions. My apologies to hear of your experience as you deserve only the best in service with us. Help is here. May I ask, where are you located when you experience these issues (zip code)? Also, you can choose which network option via the settings, mobile network, network mode option in your device. Please let us know.

Natasha,
Thank you very much for your response. In regards to zip codes, I will have to start making a list. I don't generally keep track of what ZIPs I am in when I'm working, as I can be in numerous neighborhoods, cities, metro areas, and even states in a day. A few "usual suspects" would include 32608, 29801, and 30901. The problem is not location based, however. In these zip codes, as well as all others, the issue is It universally reproducible when the mode is forced into "5G" by whatever system process does that. Manual intervention is not possible in this process, as will be discussed in a moment. As soon as the antenna switches to that mode, data becomes non-existent, latency becomes so high as to be unmeasurable, and nothing can get through via mobile data. I even have issues receiving phone calls.
As you should be aware, for an S22 Ultra obtained through a Verizon contract, the menu option of "Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Mode" does not exist . This missing option only occurs on Verizon contracted phones. Indeed, if not for Verizon's invasive violation and anti-customer decisions in this matter, I would not have had to make this post. Please refer to the included link to see the menu layout.

I await a response that can actually help me solve this issue, caused by Verizon, on a Verizon contracted phone.
Thank you.
