Samsung 24 Ultra - not receiving some group text replies

Switched to Verizon and updated to a Samsung 24 Ultra (originally had a Samsung 22). Immediately I had problems with some group texts where they can see my message, but I do not receive their replies. It does not happen with all group texts. And it does not just occur when the others are iPhone users. I can individually text those people and receive their replies, but group messaging just isn't working in some situations and the store has been unable to fix.
Any suggestions?

My guess is some of the users in your group do not have RCS enabled, or else their devices are older and cannot be upgraded to the latest software which supports RCS format. Try disabling RCS on your phone (it's under your messaging app settings where you toggle off the RCS feature). If you Google "turn off RCS in Samsung Messages" you'll get detailed instructions.
BTW Samsung Messages will no longer be supporting RCS format by January 6, 2025, at least through Verizon. Samsung has been moving away from their own apps in favor of Google's apps anyway, so I'm surprised to hear Samsung Messages was still installed on your S24.

AED2024, we're thrilled to read you recently made the switch, and want to make sure that MMS group messaging is working properly! I know you mentioned that this is only affecting some group messages. To clarify, have you noticed whether you only experience this issue in certain locations? How are data services working? Also, what texting app are you using?

Hi - it does not happen in a specific location (home, out and about, and in the Verizon office). Data services seem to be fine.
Texting app: the issue started with the Samsung "Messages" app, which I also used on my S22. They suggested I moved to " Google Messages", which didn't fix it. I then moved to Textra (also didn't fix it).
Thanks.

AED2024, thank you so much for this info. Just to clarify, although, we do appreciate you trying different texting applications, Textra is a third-party application that we would not be able to troubleshoot. I do want to ask in regard to the Samsung and Google messages, do you currently have RCS chats turned on or off?

Hi - I un-installed Textra and went back to "Samsung Messages" and still experience the issue. Regarding RCS in Samsung Messages, I tried checking: Menu - Settings - Chat Settings and got the following error message, "Unable to connect to network. Check your network settings and try again". I did go into settings, but it is unclear what I should specifically check for. Thanks.
