I recently (May 7, 2024) had to replace my samsung flip z 4 due to the screen going black while I was mid scroll on google. (I had it for about a year, no overheating or issues prior to this). The replacement sent to me with our insurance through asurion, that I've had not even a month, is having overheating issues. It starts as soon as the phone turns on at this point. I have changed the settings on performance profile to light, deep slept all unused apps, wiped the cache partition (as seen on samsung's help page), hard reset my phone, and constantly clear background apps/deleted unused downloaded apps. Nothing seems to be solving the issue and I use my phone for phone calls, messaging, Spotify and the occasional google. It seems like a consistent issue with this particular phone due to its design.
With that said, is there anything else I can do or is this phone just defective? If so, do I need to trade it in again? If this is a reoccurring issue could I replace it with a completely different phone (nonsamsung) altogether? It gets even hotter when plugged in (I don't use it while charging and I am using the charger that came with the phone). I'm concerned that it may become a fire hazard.
Thanks in advance for any replies!
