My Zfold won't update past a security update from 2021. Verizon Support unlinked my phone and it's account and relinked it. That had no effect and no update was received. Then Verizon Support directed me to Samsung Support. Samsung stated that it's Verizon's job to push updates to phones and directed me back to Verizon Support.
Others who had similar issues at other carriors stated that their carriers support team was able to initiate updates manually to the phone.
Obviously not getting updates is a concern. How can One update their phones?
The settings tab 'Software Update' does a check but comes back with "up to date" yet the phone is on its released version of Android and a 3 year old security patch.
My Verizon App Trouble shooting link never returns / fails after selecting it to run for the phone.
How can I get an update?

Hello, being on top of your phone updates is crucial, especially if you are looking to get a security patch.
For more details on the software updates on your device check out this page: https://www.verizon.com/support/samsung-galaxy-z-fold3-5g-update/.
What leads you to believe the there is a software requirement on your phone (was advised by someone, read about it, received a notification through your phone, etc.)?

I'm not understanding your question. I want the phone to be at the latest OS (Android) level, the latest One UI version and the latest Security Patch level. The need is to have bug fixes and the latest features.
Here is what is on the phone versus what is available.
Android
11 -> 13
One UI version
3.1.1 -> UI 5.0
Android Security Patch Level
Nov 2021 -> December 2023
----
Note I have since installed the Verizon Wireless Upgrade Assistant
https://support-us.samsung.com/VerizonSoftwareUpdateWin/
I can browse the phone in the OS (Windows 11) explorer, but Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant is not seeing the phone.

The official response that support has returned to me after they did some investigation:
"I'm sorry, unfortunately we are unable to push or initiate software updates on devices. I apologize for the inconvenience. "
Samsung Support stated
"Software updates for Android and security patches are the responsibility of the carrier."
I am "dead in the water" with a security patch from 2021 and an android version 2 behind the latest.

The Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant got an update on my Windows 11 machine. The new version could see the phone and reported this
> Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware.
This phone is un-upgradeable, and it is unclear as to Why.

Thank you so much for the additional information. If the Verizon Software Assistance isn't turning up any results, would it be possible to try the update via Samsung's Smart Switch? You can find how to update your phones software here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00077582/
