Hey! ive been trying over and over to figure out why i cant receive 2 or more pictures without the compression being so bad, you cant even tell whats in the picture. videos are of course abysmal, whether receiving from apple or androids, gifs work half the time, and ive gone between 2 different messaging apps and looked through every setting possible multiple times. samsung forums led me to it being a provider issue, any help? i have a galaxy s23 ultra.

I have an s24 Ultra that is having the same issue. Not sure if you've noticed this on your end, but texted photos are being compressed to under 2kb. This also happens to  single photo messages (doesn't have to be 2 or more).

The only app that works is the Verizon messages one (which isn't an ideal solution). The Google and Samsung messages apps had the same issue.

Also, if a photo is received blurry, and you ask the person to resend it hours later, it will still be compressed the same way. Time of day, location, and the sender's phone carrier do not seem to matter. I have to set the Verizon message app as the default, ask them to resend, and then it comes through correctly. Very cumbersome, since I need the Samsung message categories and other services don't have those.

Did your issues just start in May? That's when I really started noticing this happening. Until we can get someone to fix this, I would recommend trying the Verizon messages app. With graduations and summer events, this is one of the worst times for this to happen.

Hello, AuroraBorealis. Having the ability to memorialize your very special occasions is a a must. Help is here as we absolutely want to see you have access to sending and receiving pictures with no issue. Thank you for all the steps you have taken thus far. Let's just ensure we are ruling out a few things. Any pending software updates? So sorry to ask but any damage to your phone, physical or liquid? If you put the device in Safe Mode, are you able to receive or send picture messages without the blur? To put the device in Safe Mode, please see the link below and keep us posted.

I've had the same issue since early May and have a Samsung Fold. All software is up to date and have had no other issues.

We know how important it is to have your messages working correctly. Is this happening only with the messaging app? Does this happen with all pictures that you receive?
