copy photos from PC to phone

How to copy photos from my PC (windows 10) to my Galaxy s23 phone.

Appreciate any help.  I've watched some U tube videos, but everything I try doesn't work out.  My computer is a 2019 Dell Desk Top.  I can transfer pics from my phone to PC, no problem after someone kindly helped me on this community site.  I didn't have the right size end on my cord.  Local Verizon store sold me a proper one.  Bought my phone in Nov. 2023 at Verizon store.

Thanking anyone that can help in advance.

Don't know why your old photos won't go from the PC to your new phone, but you can transfer items from the phone to the PC.  Must be a formatting issue with the older photos where the S23 doesn't recognize something with them.

In any case, modern smartphones have rather short lifespans - a few years at best.  So a more reliable way to keep treasured photos electronically is to store them on a cloud service or possibly to use an external drive (hard drive or thumb drives, although disk drives of any variety do fail as well).  Several cloud services are free if you don't need massive amounts of storage space.

We can provide some assistance with getting your photos on your phone from your PC, Fitt1. When you connect your phone to the computer, you should see a notification on your device. Tap it and choose USB transfer.

Once you select USB transfer, on your computer, go to Files or File Explorer and you should see your phone on the list of folders and storage. Click on your phone, then select DCIM folder. Once you open this folder you should see all the pictures currently on your device. Then click on Files or File Explorer again to open a second window. Then find the pictures you want to add to your phone on that new window, then click and drag the files from your computer storage into your phone storage. ~Peter

Thanks for the updated message.  There is no notification on my phone with a USB transfer option.  No folder or file listed in File Explorer for my phone, however it is listed on my photos page on PC as importing.  I have imported some pics.  Thank you for your message.  I'm pretty tech stupid.  I'll go back to my Verizon store & have them see what is happening with my phone

Hope you got it figured out, but the File Explorer thing is only on the PC.  On my phone, I get a notification asking if my PC can access the phone when I hook up the USB cable, then I tap Allow or whatever it is to let the PC look at the files.  You should just be able to move whatever files to the phone, so long as you install the files to the correct folder on the phone to have it work.  If nothing is happening at all when you hook up the cable between your phone and the computer, then something isn't connected properly.

Yes, I know file explorer is on my PC.  I think my problem is in not being able to swipe down on phone & get notification.  So I bought a photo stick & will export my photos to it.  I was worried that if something happened to my PC, then I would lose all my Maui wedding pics.

Not wanting to repeat myself, but here goes.  Photos were on my PC from my old Galaxy phone, but when in November of last year the transfer of some photos to my new phone at the Verizon store  So, I checked & they of course are on the PC but not on my Galaxy s23.  I was trying to figure out how to export photos from PC to phone.  No luck!!!!!.  However, I can import photos from new phone to computer, never have a problem with that just hook it up & PC imports photos very nicely.
