phone still hot and battery life garbage on s23 after April update

Phone and battery life were great up until the April one UI update.  I have a battery tracker app and it shows I routinely used 40 to 50% of battery after 15 to 18 hours of usage with 2 to 3 hours of screen time before the update

After the April update its almost double that and my phone dies before end of date.  This is ridiculous.  This is  a known issue talked about a lot on Samsung forums: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s23-series/battery-drain-after-one-ui-6-1-update-s23-ultr...

We need Verizon to acknowledge and fix this asap or push samsung for a fix.   I buy these expensive phones to make my life easier. Not to spend 5 hours debugging it and resetting and doing all sorts of stupid stuff every time you guys decide to push out an update without testing it. FIX THIS!!!!   You can see pics below first is from before the update, second one is after the update where the whole battery is drained some days. Same usage almost, same apps, same settings on phone etc.

This is an issue Samsung needs to address.  While I'd like to think someone at Verizon would be able to contact Samsung support and lean on them for a fix, there's no telling when/if it happens.  You can file an error report with Samsung directly:

Hello, TRUSTJER2911. Help is here. Software updates are meant to enhance the device and it's function. It is also recommended to complete a factory data reset to ensure all apps are updated as well. Have you completed this step yet?

I found this article elsewhere with some suggestions such as restricting background usage by apps to prevent battery drain.  Overheating can also be caused by apps running oddly, possibly because they aren't optimized.  The bit about shutting off 5G can't be done for Verizon model phones, or if you have a Samsung of any variety.
