LTE Network Extender Antenna

I do not have southern exposure for my LTE Network Extender. I am getting a fair signal at a west facing window. Would it be OK to place the antenna on the west outside wall, and run the wire to the network extender through a hole through the wall. I am thinking it will have a bit better view of the sky, and it will be fairly dry because there are eaves above. I am thinking of mounting it near the ground so the eaves are less of an obstruction.

I want to be able to help you get the best use out of your Network Extender johncunningham To make sure I'm on the same page here, the antenna you want to move is the GPS antenna? We typically recommen making sure if you're using the antenna is to have it near a window so it can get good signal. Yes, I mean the LTE antenna and wire that comes with the unit. It reaches a window on the west side of my office, which is a single story portion of my house. The signal is better but I still get some garbled conversations. In the web app, using the dns address, the app shows the signal is fairly strong, but still the average is slightly below the threshold. I was thinking of sticking the antenna to the outside of the wall for abetter view of the sky and drilling a hole through the wall for the lead to back to the LTE unit. Just wondering if it is waterproof and/or is this recommended?

Gotcha johncunningham, and thanks for clarifying for me. Reading up on the GPS Antenna, it's designed to be mounted on the inside of a window, and shouldn't even be covered with tape. That indicates to me, it's not intended for outdoor use. I'd not recommend sticking it outside, exposed to the elements. To be fair, there's nothing in the user guide which says it can't be, but all the instructions talk about using it inside a window. So, I tend to lean towards the side of caution in this case.

I appreciate the additional details, johncunningham. I appreciate all that you've done to help improve the signal with your extender. In regard to your question, the network extender is intended for indoor use, and we would not recommend installing the antenna outside your home.
