DVR keeps freezing and resetting

Question

I have a DVR (Arris model VMS-4100 with no clock display) and three set top boxes (Arris models IPC-4100) connected via coax.  At random times while watching live TV or a recording program on the DVR, the picture freezes, then the DVR resets.  If someone is watching a TV connected to a STBs, it does the same until the STB can regain connection to the DVR.  I have a Fios Quantum Gateway router which remains connected to the Internet during the DVR outage, so I doubt the router is the issue.  Should I have the DVR replaced?

First thing to check is the coax that goes to the DVR box. That box is the tuner for the minis, so if it looses the signal, so will they. Look at the coax from the ONT to the splitter and from the splitter to the router. Then check the coax from the splitter to the DVR.  Also I'd get the splitter replaced with a new MoCa2.0 approved splitter. Check all the coax connections by loosening and re-tightening them. That is most likely the issue, not the DVR itself. You could also do this:

Main Menu > Customer Support > Top Support Tools > Fix FiOS TV Issues.
