Confusion Regarding $1000 Trade-In Advertising

Logged onto Verizon for the first time in a year and saw a promotion for a 1000$ credit if I trade in my Galaxy S 24 Plus. I picked out the Galaxy S 25 Ultra, and ended up only getting 297$ for my old phone. If I would have known I was not going to get the full 1000$ I would have never traded it in, and tried to sell it to someone for the 500-700 dollars the phone is still going for pre-owned.

Can you confirm, did you see this promotion on our main site or was it in your My Offers?

Verizon ought to do like one of their competitors does (at least they do now) where such offers say "up to X dollars for trade-in". I find it hard to believe that anyone bringing in a trade-in is getting a grand for any phone in any condition.
