$5 bill increase

So Verizon has increased my bill by $5 in the last few months.
Then they offer a $5 discount if I enroll in autopay. However, that discount only applies if I give them my bank account number rather than a debit card.
Companies cannot keep data safe so why would I ever give my bank account details?
