I travel from the US to Europe and back frequently and have a European carrier's eSIM in addition to my Verizon pSIM. I want to have all Verizon services blocked while out of the US so when out of the US they only work on WiFi or while using the foreign eSIM.
When this is working correctly my iPhone shows the carrier description of "VZW Using Cellular Data" (when not on WiFi). It seems like this gets reset whenever I return to the US.
How do I ask Verizon to reliably make this change? Can I do it through my account? Some Verizon reps are able to make this change, others think they are but the carrier description never changes after restarting the phone. TravelPass and Pay As You Go are removed from my line, and I have Wi-Fi Calling and Prefer Wi-Fi While Roaming enabled.

Hey there, NoSpamSam1, we know it's important to be able to use your phone while traveling overseas. You mentioned you're looking to completely block your Verizon service while traveling and we've been able to help you with that in the past. To clarify, are you looking to suspend your service temporarily while traveling? If so, you can suspend and reconnect yoru service via my Verizon. Please click here: https://www.verizon.com/support/suspend-service-faqs/ for details.

Hi Lauren - thanks for replying. I can't suspend my service as I need the phone line to make/receive calls. Just want to use WiFi and the foreign carrier like a WiFi provider so I don't have any international charges.

Hi there, NoSpamSam1. Wishing you safe travels! I hear you loud and clear. Would it be possible to completely turn off your cellular data on the phone and only use Wi-Fi? It is our goal to set you up for the best success as suspending you line is truly the best option to ensure no international charges, but it is important that we do let you know about our TravelPass option as well. https://www.verizon.com/support/travelpass-faqs/
