FCF_QQQ, I'm thrilled you're interested in the new myPlan 🙂 Definitely understand worrying about losing any ongoing trade-in promotions, and I'd not want you to lose them either. If you change your plan via My Verizon, you're alerted to all the changes and whether a plan change would affect the current promotions. The steps for how to change your plan can be found here: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-231253/
If you see Step #6, it confirms you're giving a 'Here's how your account will change' summary before you make any changes. Typically, our trade-in promotions work with premium unlimited plans. The grandfathered 5G Play More and Unlimited Ultimate are both premium plans. For sure though, you'll be able to see all changes before you submit any plan change.
If you want to do that change, you can use this link here: https://www.verizon.com/plans/unlimited/

Understood.
For some reason, different Verizon gave me different answers on the trade in credit carryover. Some said I would lose the credit after switching to Unlimited Ultimate. Can you confirm I would be able to keep the credit? What if I lost the credit after I switched?
Thanks, John.

Last month I switched from 5G Start to the Unlimited Welcome plan because Verizon was decreasing the Auto Pay credit. When I made the change, my projected bill still showed my promotional credits for each phone for the remainder of the 36 months. Now I’m getting emails from Verizon stating if I don’t want to lose my promotional credits for each phone, I will need to switch back to 5G Start. I would have never switched in the first place if my projected bill estimate showed the loss of the promotional credits. What a hassle!

We understand the importance of getting the best value for your service. To better assist, please tell us. Were the device promotional credits tied to a promotion that specifically required to have the old plan?

We're sorry about the problems with the plan switch and your promotions. Were you able to switch back to your old plan or do you need assistance with any changes?

I didn't think it was possible for a customer to switch back to a legacy plan if they've changed to some current plan, because the legacy plans are no longer available?
Whether or not promotions/credits stay when you change plans like this is also really confusing. It would seem to me that any promotions attached to legacy plans would go away upon changing to a current plan. People have reported that the previously included Apple perks on old plans do not transfer, for example, and are "broken" because they can't get say, Apple Music to work like it used to on the old plan.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

Thanks for trying to help. Verizon said I could switch back to the 5G Start plan by 10/21 to continue getting promotional credit or upgrade from Ultimate Welcome to Ultimate Plus to maintain promotional credits. I chose the Ultimate Plus because it was an easier switch and only a $3 difference in cost. Hopefully, the issue is resolved.

I guess so. Did not know that at the time but I’ve since learned that switching to the Unlimited Welcome plan will remove the promotional credits but if I switch to the Unlimited Plus, I am still eligible for the credits. Verizon should really take these promotional credits into account in your bill estimates when you change plans (if they’re tied to a plan) and not a month later.
