Transfer pin

Jhyiesla1
Newbie

On our unlimited accounts, I have an iPhone that is tied to nothing and I have no balance on the device and no contract. My wife has a new Galaxy phone and watch which has a three year special discount and there are payoffs on those devices should we want to leave  or upgrade.
I want to transfer my iPhone to another carrier. When I go in and select to get a transfer pin, I get a message that if I transfer we will owe the amount still owed on her devices. I assume that this won’t really apply since my phone doesn’t have any payoffs on it. Can someone confirm. I don’t want to go thru the transfer process and we end up owning a ton of money on her devices that are remaining with Verizon.

Resolution Update: By partnering with support, an account analysis was completed, and an explanation for the account's device payment plans was provided.

For anyone facing a similar question now, if a device payment plan for a line you are removing has been fully paid, you will not be charged for the device. However, if an active device payment plan exists, you will be billed for the remaining balance of the device at the time of disconnection.

For more details, please see "Can I have a device payment agreement without an active Verizon wireless mobile number?" under the About tab here: https://www.verizon.com/support/device-payment-faqs/

We'd never want to see any of your lines leave the Verizon family, jhyiesla1. If the line you are removing has a device payment that has been paid off in full, you will not be billed for the device. If there is an active device payment, you will be billed the remaining balance on the device at the time of disconnect. We have sent you a Private Message to further assist with checking on your current device payments.
