I am so sad that this is happening! 2020 is getting worse. I love my ringback tones!
I feel the same way. They are not giving a reason why. That upsets me. I like having my ringback tones and ringtones. Now I have to find another way to have my ringback tone.

I love answering a phone call and people telling they've enjoyed my ringback tone. Making/receiving calls just got boring. PLEASE BRING IT BACK VERIZON!

Ringing just like if you were dialing a landline or any cell phone number that doesn't have a ringback tone.
You have a great concern, kallegro17! You do not have to worry about missing any calls. The caller will hear the regular dial tone, and you will hear the phone ring as normal. Does this clarify your concern?

Search the app store for a ringtone application. There are several for Android phones including ones that let you make your own ringtones from the songs you own.
ALIMAY1, making sure you are aware of your options to purchase ringtones is important. Let’s explore your options. What is the Make/Model of your device? Also, are you looking specifically for Ringtones? Or Ringback Tones?
I suspect this is part of the retirement of the 3G EDVO and 1xRTT network. The ringback tones have never been available on phones capable of VoLTE calls or the HD Voice feature. As Verizon Wireless moves fully to VoLTE and a LTE only network, features not compatible with the LTE network will discontinued.
I am very disappointed that the Ringback Tone has been eliminated & I do think that they should have asked for our input before they pulled the plug. Come on Verizon it should be about customer satisfaction first!!
But what about all those who were enjoying that option, come on Verizon isn’t it supposed to be about customer satisfaction first especially for those of us that have supported you through many years!!
Badough, we truly appreciate you being a long time Verizon customer. While ringback tones are no longer offered through Verizon, you still have the option of checking out your Play Store or App Store to see what third party options are available to you.

My original reason for getting the Ringback Tones is because VZW starting having a different ring for callers if you were on a call. They knew you were on a call and could see them calling. I did not want that, so I got Ringback Tones. Everyone just heard a nice melody problem solved. Now what do I do?
I am looking for RingBACK tones, so people will not hear the VZW tone change when I am on a call vs when I am not on a call when they are calling me.

It's a sad time indeed to know that Ringback Tones are no longer available through Verizon. Any comparable applications through third-party sources would be another alternative. Any existing subscriptions and Ringback Tones purchased from the Media Store are automatically removed from all lines on accounts, and you will no longer be charged a subscription fee for this feature. Verizon has discontinued their Ring back tones. You can still get ringtones and notifications from 3rd party apps. I think that's my plan. - Carter

Check your last couple of bills (the PDF copy if you are paperless). The last page or so will have various regulatory fee explanations and any changes to the account that will affect your next bill. The realignment of the bill due that occurred a year or so ago had a notification in the bill one billing cycle prior to change. The retirement and discontinuation of the ringback tones were likely notified by the same method. The Verizon Support page about the discontinuation was previously posted on this thread.

I'm definitely sorry to hear you didn't see a notification about this. We want to make sure our customers always know what is coming. We did send out notifications about this on bills and through email but I know that can be missed. We appreciate how long you enjoyed this feature but at this time as technology has evolved we are no longer able to support that.
