Is there any dis-advantage of purchasing a new IPhone 6s from Sam's Club rather than a local home town Verizon store?
No 3rd party has their own options and terms and conditions. Some "features" are not available going through 3rd party retailers. The plan itself is a plan and those are generally always offered except loyalty or discount plans. Switching iPhone every year would be considered a feature and it would boil down to is Costco can offer it, and whether or not that rep put it in the system correctly if they do.
No, not when you consider the bulk buying clubs usually have a sale or promo, add-ons or lower prices, maybe better return policies etc....
Will the payment plans (to purchase new Iphone 6s be the exact same as what is offered in local hometown Verizon stores and online? For example, will we be able to upgrade to the next Iphone(7) when it comes out in about 6 months?
You'd have to check the promos and details/terms at Sam's Club.
Sam's Club will have a great deal on Iphone 6s coming up. They are offering a $200 Sam's Club spending card with activation under the Verizon payment plan. My question is, will that be the exact same "plans" that are offered through the Verizon Website? For example, the same service plan I have now and the ability to upgrade to the new IPhone (7) when they come out.....etc,etc

The device payment plan now requires that you pay off the device before "upgrading" to another phone. You can't have two phone payments on the same line of service - your best plan is to try and sell the 6S (you'll get more in a private sale than Verizon will give you on trade in) and then pay off Verizon to start payments on the 7, or buy the 7 outright.
Sam's club may have restrictions on changes to the phone or the service for a specified period of time too.
I guess that is my real question! Won't the Verizon plans be exactly the
same no matter where I sign up??? (Not counting the initial phone
purchase).
