Someone else has my number on their phone!!!!

So I've just about had it with this problem. Apparently some company has issued my phone number I have had over a year to another person. I'm getting calls and texts at all hours of the day and night for some other person and it's quite annoying. I've asked them who they are calling and what company this person is with but nobody seems to know what company. The most irritating thing is I am pretty sure whoever they are calling is some kind of drug dealer or something of the sort because half the messages are pointing that direction not to mention his rather angry "customers" when I'm not the correct person answering the phone. I haven't been told my calls are going to a wrong person seems I am just getting all his stuff. What am I supposed to do this is ridiculous.

Sounds like someone forwarded a number to you..... There is not a way to have two with the same number.

Actually it is happening just as I am saying. There is another company or reseller of a company that somehow has gotten my number in their "pool of available numbers" and they are issuing it to one of their customers. Now this is NOT causing an interruption in my service it is just causing everyone who dials their phone to come directly to me. I finally found out it is a reseller of T mobile this time (previously it has been T mobile) and I have contacted both companies and they have supposedly removed the number but I am still getting calls and well this just keep happening. Just wish there was a way Verizon could step up and fix the problem because frankly I am tired of it happening over and over again.

Well if someone WAS given your number and now it has been removed, people will still call YOU...... But I will still go with someone forwarding a number to you. Whether purposely or by accident.

I dont know what you expect VZW to do if what you were told is true.... they did not do it.

Seems like that person would want to change numbers if they are not getting any calls.

That would solve the problem for you....and there should be no charge for that, since there is definitely a problem here.

I have had this problem with a landline number, what had happened is the State add added another area code and the other person never had his new area code changed, the last seven digits are exactly line mine but the first 3 had been changed to a different area code, after trying each area code with my number I tracked down the person and asked them to change there number and when I get a call asking for the other person I give them the correct phone number, now I only get about 2 a year. Sometimes its just a transposed number. Its worth a try, good luck.
