Still down in Philadelphia, and when I try to log in, I get a line of raw code. Okay, email is down. But can't they manage a "Sorry" message?
This is killing my business. I'm calling Verizon right now!
One reason I went with Verizon for most of our services was that they used to have US-based tech support, which was extremely helpful, and I had gotten disgusted with dealing with AT&T tech support in India where they didn't understand the difference between local and long-distance service. In India they have "circles" and no local/long-distance, and obviously no one from AT&T educated them.
Some day (hopefully before it is too late), American business will realize that every job they outsource is an unemployed person in the USA.
But frankly I have so far found Verizon tech support to be very good, but I guess it is going downhill, judging by this fiasco. I also got better support from AT&T last time I called them (for a phone issue -- I still have one AT&T phone). Too complicated to explain.
Recorded message says that email is down, it's been down for several hours now, they are working on it. is there anybody with verizon fios email that is working?
Unable to access Verizon E-mail either by Webmail or by Outlook. Webmail error message says "Unable to process request. Please try again later..."
Outlook error when sending test message:
Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password for this account in Account Settings. The server responded: -ERR [SYS/TEMP] Service Temporarily Unavailable
I am in Carrollton, TX.
Recorded message says email is down and it's been down for most of the morning now --- they are working on it. It must be a big problem very unusual for an entire email system to go down, that's usually built to be highly redundant with a lot of failover built in to keep outages from occurring.
So glad I am not the only one experiencing this problem. It has happened a few times in the last month but not for this long. It worked this morning and now I can't get in at all.
Email down in Boston
Down in Bergen County NJ.
My verizon email is down in leesburg, VA - Loudoun County...However, my son's Verizon email works fine...
Come to think of it, my Verizon FIOS service has been crappy for the last year in general (I even reported it to the BBB it has gotten so bad). My supposed download and upload rates spike very badly. Lately I get less than 1MBPS spikes with small moments of no download rate at all. FIOS was great a few years ago. It really has turned into crappy service. Too many people and too many services with too small an infrastructure. I bet going back to cable modem now would be great, since they have had so many people switch to FIOS; they probably have a huge pipeline now...
My verizon email is down in Leesburg, VA as well...all morning. However, my son's Verizon email is working...go figure...
Email down in Downingtown PA. This is very annoying I agree that they should have a status update on the site!
I have 2 verizon email addys ( a personal and a professional ). The personal one is down, the professional one is up. Go figure.
Verizon just put out a tweet on @Verizonsupport:
We apologize for the issue Verizon customers may be experiencing with e-mail. Our team is working to restore POP3 and web access now. ^Jack
Things break. Your car, washing machine, etc....Verizon is not immune to failures, just like everyone else. How about waiting for an explanation. How about going outside, getting some sunlight...fresh air.....hug a tree.
Hi All-
We are aware there is an issue with Verizon email right now and we apologize for any inconvenience it's causing you. We’re working diligently behind the scenes to get things up and running as quickly as we can.
Please bear with us- I’ll update you as soon as I hear more.
Thanks,
Heather
Email in Newbury Park, CA has been down all morning???
You are correct. My email service has been going downhill for months -- I think since they upgraded the web interface. It used to work quite nicely. Now it actually stows things in the wrong folders and 90% of the time I have to do operations twice. It may well be a capacity problem, since I have fewer issues very early in the morning and around 5 pm it is a disaster.
I asked someone in tech support about this when I was chatting about another issue and he told me to try Firefox instead of IE!!!!
Since so far (knock on wood) my Internet response continues to be good, perhaps it is time to move to gmail.
Still down in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C., as of Noon.
I was put on hold and finally just hung up on, probably because the customer service people are tired of talking to all of us.
down in Addison, TX

Perhaps you should take a long walk off a short pier...
What kind of **bleep** intentionally seeks to further irritate already frustrated customers by admonishing their frustrations?
I've been getting same message all morning. I need my email!
I get the same thing when I try to access my personal email through the web.
I'm located in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C.
