Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed. How do I get my mail?
Are you using the native email app on the device? If you are I would go to the apple Apps store and download the stand alone app for you mail if available.
However if you are trying to get email from your ISP, you will have to check the setting under Mail, Contacts and Calendars.
Make sure the settings are correct.
Lastly, it could be a fluke on the mail server side. And it will clear up by its self.

No luck what? No luck downloading an email app from the apple store (They are free) (Yahoo, Outlook/hotmail, AOL etc)
or the settings are not correct? or they are correct and still not functioning?
Try this Hold down the center button and the power button together to have a soft reset. Then try getting your email again.
Another suggestion is turn airplane mode on and off in the settings.
Hello, I am unable to open my yahoo email on phone, states the connection to the server failed. I have turned on and off. Also turned on and off airplane mode. This has been going on for about 4 days. Any other solutions?

Download the Yahoo app. Replace Mail with Yahoo Mail. Verizon sucks!
Go to settings and re enter your password. I had been getting mail and all of a sudden I had same issue went settings and password was wrong.... Re entered and got 2 days worth of mail immediately!
