HI BTBACKUPBOX, while in a Verizon corporate store 2 days ago I inquired about the new iPhone. They didn't have a lot of info other than it will be announced this month. I had mentioned that I read a high end one could go for $1100, they weren't even sure of that. So I guess we'll be hearing from Verizon as soon as they're able to start selling them.
I had also mentioned that I read the new iPhone may not be released till November do to a snag Apple had with developing some of the software. But the Verizon store said they were told they will be out in Sept.
I talked to a VERIZON customer service lady on my iphone the other day & she is putting me on a call back list to pre order the iPhone 8. She was guessing the end of this month or the middle of October would be the pre orde date. She changed that saying it would probably be the end of this month, with the middle of October being the release date. I have the iphone 6s & she said that I could upgrade it to iphone 8. If this didn't answer your question you might call customer service. They seem to have more info than the stores.
Has anyone never seen an iPhone announcement?
All of these questions will be answered when Apple does their keynote. Anything about the phone itself, price, release date, features, what it may look like, etc. is speculation until Apple shows it off.
Actually to be put on a callback list, especially for highly anticipated pre-order situations (iPhone x), you'll want to call Verizon TELESALES. Customer service is meant for plan changes and helping with issues related to your dissatisfaction or confusion. Upgrading/migrating/porting in from another carrier/ adding a line/ preordering... this stuff goes through telesales.
There is no call back list. Verizon does not have time to manage a list and call people to let them know it is time to pre-order. All information is posted on Apple's and Verizon's website. The pre-order will start at midnight on Cupertino time on October 27. Calculate the time you will be able to order according to your time zone. Eastern time will be 3:00AM. The same as all iPhone releases.
