Can I stream live TV from the VMS when I am in my home?
Yes.
Can I stream live TV from my VMS when I am away from home?
You can’t stream live TV from your VMS to your device while away from home. You can stream select live TV channels via Uplynk.
Can I watch the entire Fios TV service channel lineup on my mobile device?
You can watch a smaller selection from the full channel lineup while in-home (IH). Out-of-home live TV viewing is a smaller selection from these in-home channels.
Can I stream recorded content from the VMS when I am away from home?
Previously recorded content can be streamed from your VMS to your device while you are away from home and within the US and its territories. Some content providers and channel stations that own the original content restrict recorded content to be streamed out-of-home. In this scenario, you might see a message like: "Due to licensing restrictions, DVR content from this channel is not available out-of-home."
How do I watch live TV on my mobile device?
You can watch live TV from several launch points. Your options are:
- Watch Now—Click on the play icon.
- TV Listings—Press and hold on the program you would like to view and select the “Watch Here” button.
- Product Info Page – Select the “Watch Here” button.
How do I stream using Uplynk?
Select Uplynk from the Settings section of the app.
Why am I unable to play or stream my recordings?
You will be unable to stream your recordings in the following scenarios:
- Your VMS is offline.
- Your VMS blocks your device.
- Your device has not been added to the VMS.
- All your VMS resources are in active use.
- You are not a Multi-Room DVR Enhanced or Premium Service subscriber with Fios Internet service.
Why does the Fios TV Mobile app need access to device location?
You may be prompted to allow access to your device location. Denying device location will limit the availability of certain content.
What is In-Home (IH) and Out-of-Home (OOH)?
Your In-Home (IH) status activates only when your device connects to the Fios router provided with your Fios Internet service. This router links directly to your Fios service account.
If your device is not Wi-Fi connected to your Fios router, you are always Out-of-Home (OOH), even when you sit right next to the router.
Your IH and OOH status determines the Fios TV Mobile app experience. This status controls the availability of specific Fios TV Mobile app features and the Fios TV content you can access for live TV, On Demand, and DVR mobile streaming.
What about when I'm at someone else’s house who also has Fios TV and Fios Internet service?
You are considered out-of-home (OOH) when you connect your device to their Fios router.
