I’ve got a new phone was a new SIM card, which is technically activated now, but does not allow me to make calls or receive texts - particularly important ones, like Verizon verification codes. Is there anything that can be done to circumvent the text message verification when switching to the new SIM card?

Voice mail takes days to weeks to show up
In the last few months, voice mails have been significantly delayed in showing up on my phone. Varies from a few hours to a day (most frequently) to up to a month. In addition, visual vm has stopped working for some reason.
